Backpack Day 1 - Prague =]

Prague, was the first destination of my very first backpack trip. Of course, I was very very excited about it.

Having arrived at Prague airport after a tiring sleepless night in the London Gatwick Airport. Then we rushed to check in at the Aparthotel Austria Suite. Extremely exhausted and misses the bed a lot, but yet we did not want to miss a single second to explore the city.

This is how exhausted we are.
There we go, scroll down by the Vltava River to the Old Town Square of Prague. I seriously fell in love with the old town, the piazza was really beautiful.

You must not miss the street performances as well as the historical buildings in the square. Other than that, you can also find various of souvenir shops in the old town such as puppets, glass decorations etc. They make me feel like buying the old town home. xD

Not to forget, there is also a food market near the old town square. The aroma of the food had attracted us to try every single food stall in the food market. Crazy huh?

Trdelnik
Potato Chips.. Yum Yum =]

Very famous old prague ham xD
I personally like Trdelnik a lot. It is a sweet pastry, very popular in Czech Republic, which is made from rolled dough, wrapped around a stick, then grilled and topped with sugar and walnut mix.We had also tried the potato chips and not to forget the very famous, Old Prague Ham. Meat eaters would love Czech a lot, as they eat a lot of meat than other countries do.

Night view of the square

The old town square

Other than food, we shall not forgot about the other attractions in the Old Town Square. One of my favourite is the Astronomical clock on the square. It took us some time to search for the clock, and when we finally did, we were amazed and attracted by the clock, so much so that we visited the square everyday to have a look at the clock.

The Astronomical Clock
The Astronomical clock was the third-oldest astronomical clock in the world and the oldest one still working. The clock mechanism itself is composed of three main components: the astronomical dial, representing the position of the Sun and Moon in the sky and displaying various astronomical details; "The Walk of the Apostles", a clockwork hourly show of figures of the Apostles and other moving sculptures—notably a figure of Death (represented by a skeleton) striking the time; and a calendar dial with medallions representing the months.

Although i may not have understand how to read the clock and how does it function, but I really like the design of it and of course the history of it, thats why I brought home a miniature Astronomical Clock.

After having the old prague ham as dinner, we then called it a day and went back to our apartment to recharge for the second day.
